2005 Report is here

Loyal Webmaster's first ever marathon, and delighted to find himself going off at the start with the various Batmans, Angels, Cave Men, and A Saveloy.

For me the first 17 miles was a slalom course, but that just gives me good excuses. tee hee.

These are the results I have - any additions/corrections welcome. Some very respectable times here.

For my cheap amusement I reproduce the article from the Guardian which highlights the dangers of agreeing to run a marathon becuase it seemed like a good idea at the time,Silly Moo....

Curry, Chinese takeaways and four hours' training were not on many runners' checklists in the weeks leading up to the London marathon. But Jade Goody, already famous for not doing very much, has become more famous for doing even less after her pre-race preparations left her staggering out of the race before the finish, fearing for her life. Facing criticism that she failed to take the charity run seriously, the former Big Brother star yesterday insisted she had done "all right" considering she got bored with training and limbered up on a diet of takeaways in the days before the race

Spectators reported that Goody, 24, was reduced to a hobble after just a mile and a half. Four hours and 37 minutes after starting, witnesses said Goody "turned blue" and shouted "I'm dying" to paramedics around the 18.5 mile mark. A London marathon spokeswoman said there was no record of Goody after this point, although the reality television star claimed she completed 21 miles. "I've never done anything so hard in all my life ... It was horrible when I stopped, I felt like I was dying," she said from her home in Chipping Ongar, Essex. Goody, among 708 runners from 32,598 who failed to cross the finish line on Sunday, said her nominated charity, the NSPCC, would receive the £355 sponsorship money she raised - slightly less than the £1.2m world fundraising record from a single event Sir Steve Redgrave is set to break. Race director and former 10,000-metre runner David Bedford said it was a shame for someone not to use their place properly after 90,000 people applied for fewer than 34,000 places.

Again Ray took great photos....
