Are runners getting slower?

Its been a long-running comment at the club that race times seem to be getting slower since the 80′s despite so many more people running.
Its nice to see a whole feature on this on the Beeb today, and as a bonus it mentions what a particularly difficult London Marathon was in 2005 – so those of us with ropey times from that year can take comfort!
