After a 6 year hiatus, our popular race is back for 2025, now with chip timing.

Course

The 10km multi-terrain course consisting of 2 scenic laps inside Beckenham Place Park within ancient woodland and open trails, completely traffic free. Runners should be prepared for uneven surfaces, hills, protruding tree roots, and in the event of wet weather, some muddy and/or slippery surfaces.

The course will be marshalled at regular points and there will be a sweeper to accompany the last runner(s) on the 2nd lap. Trail shoes are recommended (spikes are not required), but road shoes should also be adequate except in the event of heavy rainfall beforehand. There will be a water station at 5km and at the finish.

We will be using chip timing for live results as runners finish. Full results will be available online immediately after the race.

Facilities & Parking

There are changing facilities, showers and toilets at race HQ. There is limited car parking within the club grounds, but there is plenty of free on-road parking on the surrounding roads. Cycle parking is available within the car park.

Travel

Race HQ is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from Beckenham Junction station (trains from Victoria/Orpington, Croydon Tramlink and local buses), 10 minutes from both New Beckenham (trains from Hayes/Charing Cross) and Ravensbourne Stations (trains from Orpington). Local buses serve stops located on Foxgrove and nearby Southend Road.

Race Number Collection

Your timing chip and race number will be ready to collect from race HQ on the day between 09:30 and 10:30.

The Start

Please note that the last post will be played and there will be a silence observed before the race; the start will therefore be at 11:02. The start and finish will be in the field just up from Westgate Road.

Finish / After the race

All finishers are welcome to join us for refreshments and homemade cake back at race HQ after the race(as long as stocks last!). The club bar will be open from 12 noon.

Prizes

Shortly after the race has finished, a prize presentation will be given back at race HQ

Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners of the men’s and women’s races, and the winners of the following categories:

Male: M40, M50, M60, M70
Female: F35, F45, F55 and F65.
