Is that time of the year when some of our runners are focusing their training efforts towards a Spring half or full marathon. This weekend was no exception – has not only culminated with Mo Farah’s European record in the half marathon distance but was also packed with some very good performances. Well done all!

Donna represents Kent

On Saturday 7th March, Donna represented Kent at the Cross Country Inter-Counties Championship at Cofton Park, Birmingham.  The competition was of the highest quality with Team GB athlete, Lily Partridge crossing the line first in 25.07.  Donna put in a sterling performance representing Kent, following her success in the Kent Cross Country League, finishing 206th out of 275 in a tremendous time of 31.32.

Thames Meander Marathon

Well done to Ken Fancett not only for completing the Thames Meander Marathon in an impressive time but also for coming 1st in his age group once again. Ken has completed 3 consecutive marathons in 3 weeks, as you do!

Last Sunday was again packed with great results: Ken Fancett was 1st in his age group with an impressive time in the Wrexham Marathon, after completing the Stinger Marathon last weekend. Louisa has PB’d at the Surrey half. Paul Fletcher, Kate and Claire F have successfully completed the Lydd half and 20 mile respectively, despite the windy conditions. Well done all!

South Devon Coastal Trail Series

Peter Baksh won the 28.5 mile South Devon coastal marathon (definitely an ultra!) finishing some 3 minutes ahead of second place and 27 minutes ahead of the third position. Neil Fox has also succefully completed the 36 mile ultra event. Well done both on a course that climbed over 3,500 feet!
